The BRIDGEPORT FITTINGS 1089-3 is a steel conduit reducing washer used to transition between two different trade sizes at a knockout or enclosure opening. It seats against the interior face of a box, panel, or enclosure wall to fill the gap left when a smaller-trade-size conduit or fitting is installed through a larger knockout. The washer is stamped from steel with a galvanized finish for corrosion resistance. Trade size is 3-1/2 inches x 1 inch, with an inner diameter of 1-3/8 inches and an outer diameter of 5 inches. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting during conduit rough-in on rigid metal conduit and IMC systems.
This reducing washer is suited for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems in commercial and industrial electrical installations. It is used wherever a standard knockout size does not match the conduit trade size being pulled, allowing the installer to maintain a proper, code-compliant fit at enclosure entries. Typical applications include panelboards, junction boxes, pull boxes, and other metallic enclosures where knockout reductions are required. It is sold and installed individually.
Designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems requiring a 3-1/2 inch x 1 inch trade size knockout reduction at metallic enclosures, boxes, and panelboards.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the enclosure before working at any panel or junction box entry. The reducing washer is seated flat against the interior surface of the enclosure wall around the knockout opening, and the conduit fitting is tightened against it from the exterior. Follow applicable NEC requirements for conduit fittings and enclosure entries to ensure a secure, listed installation.
