The Bravo BRV-SD48HI-230VO is a 48,000 BTU/h single-zone inverter-driven heat pump outdoor unit designed for year-round heating and cooling in larger residential and light commercial applications. Running on R32 refrigerant at 208-230 volts single phase, this side-discharge outdoor unit pairs with a compatible Bravo multi-position ducted air handler to form a complete central ducted mini split system. Rated at 16.5 SEER2 and 8.5 HSPF2, it delivers efficient performance across a broad operating range. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation, refrigerant charging, and commissioning.
This outdoor unit is engineered for single-zone ducted applications where a central air handler is preferred over a wall-mounted indoor unit. It suits larger living spaces, open-plan commercial suites, and retrofit ducted installations where duct runs already exist or are being added. The system operates down to low ambient temperatures, making it suitable for heating-dominant climates in addition to mixed-use cooling applications. Confirmed paired indoor unit is the BRV-MP48AHUW-230VI multi-position air handler.
Confirmed compatible paired indoor unit is the Bravo BRV-MP48AHUW-230VI multi-position ducted air handler. Designed as a matched single-zone heat pump system component — do not mix with indoor units outside the Bravo matched system pairing.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician due to the use of R32 refrigerant, which is classified as mildly flammable (A2L). Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit. Follow NEC requirements for disconnect sizing, wire gauge, and overcurrent protection based on the unit minimum circuit ampacity. Outdoor unit placement must maintain manufacturer-specified clearances on all sides, and refrigerant line sets must be sized, leak-tested, and evacuated to proper vacuum before charging.
