The ROBERT BOSCH TOOL GROUP DSB1006 is a 9/16-inch by 6-inch spade bit designed for fast, clean wood boring in residential and light commercial applications. Built under the Daredevil line, this bit features a full cone threaded tip that pulls the bit into the material for effortless drilling without the need for excessive downward pressure. The contoured paddle design promotes rapid chip removal, reducing heat buildup and keeping the cut clear. Spur and reamer tips score the perimeter of the hole before the paddle clears material, resulting in cleaner entry and exit points. A 1/4-inch hex shank provides secure, tool-free bit changes on compatible drivers and drill chucks.
This spade bit is suited for drilling through dimensional lumber, engineered wood, and subflooring in framing, rough-in plumbing, and electrical work. With a 5-inch drilling depth, it handles most standard stud and joist penetrations in one pass. Electricians and plumbers routing wire or pipe through wood framing will find this bit well matched to typical rough-in demands. The 6-inch overall length provides enough reach to clear obstructions in tight framing bays without requiring an extension.
Designed for use with drills and impact drivers equipped with a 1/4-inch hex chuck or quick-change bit holder; suitable for boring through softwood, hardwood, and engineered wood framing members.
This bit is installed by electricians, plumbers, and carpenters during rough-in phases. Ensure the drill or driver is set to an appropriate speed for wood boring before starting. Withdraw the bit periodically on deep cuts to clear chips and prevent binding. Do not use this bit on metal, masonry, or any material it is not rated for.
