The ROBERT BOSCH TOOL GROUP DLSB1009 is a 3/4-inch diameter spade bit engineered for fast, aggressive wood boring in demanding trade applications. Part of the Daredevil line, this bit measures 16 inches in overall length with a 15-inch drilling depth, giving electricians and plumbers the reach needed to bore through wall framing, floor joists, and structural lumber without extensions. The full cone threaded tip pulls the bit forward under its own feed, reducing the downward pressure required. A 1/4-inch hex shank with a Power Groove design locks into quick-change chucks and prevents rotation slippage under high-torque conditions.
This spade bit is suited for residential and light commercial rough-in work where long-reach boring through wood framing is required. Electricians use it to run conduit or cable through stud bays and top plates. Plumbers rely on it to bore supply and drain rough-in holes through floor plates and joists. The contoured paddle geometry and spur-and-reamer tip configuration produce cleaner entry and exit holes compared to flat paddle designs, reducing blowout on finish surfaces. The 16-inch length handles double-stud assemblies and thick dimensional lumber in a single pass.
Designed for use with any 1/4-inch hex quick-change drill chuck or standard 3-jaw drill chuck; compatible with corded and cordless drills capable of driving 3/4-inch spade bits through dimensional lumber and engineered wood.
Spade bits of this size and length are typically used by licensed electricians and plumbers during rough-in framing stages. Secure the workpiece before drilling and confirm no utilities are present behind the bore path. Operate the drill at moderate speed with steady feed pressure; the threaded tip will self-feed once engaged, so allow the bit to advance at its own rate rather than forcing it. Follow applicable NEC or IPC clearance requirements when boring near structural members or fasteners.
