The BOSCH bovb-36rtb-m20s is a 3-ton inverter-driven heat pump condensing unit rated up to 20 SEER2, designed for R454B refrigerant and built for high-efficiency residential and light-commercial applications. It runs on 208-230/1/60 power and uses an inverter-driven rotary compressor that modulates from 35% to 138% capacity in cooling and 34% to 130% in heating, adjusting in 1% increments for precise load matching. The outdoor coil uses copper tube construction with hydrophilic aluminum fins, and the 10-speed ECM outdoor fan motor keeps operation quiet and efficient. Licensed HVAC technicians perform the installation and commissioning of this unit.
This condensing unit is a component of the Bosch IDS Premium Connected Series and is sized for 3-ton applications. It supports optional communication with the Bosch BOVA20 and BIVA20 air handler units when paired correctly. The unit is compatible with most standard 24 VAC heat pump thermostats, making it a practical fit for new installations and like-for-like system upgrades where R454B refrigerant is specified. Its compact footprint of 29-1/8 inches wide by 29-1/8 inches deep simplifies placement in tight equipment yards and rooftop applications.
Designed for use within the Bosch IDS Premium Connected Series; supports optional communication with the Bosch BOVA20 and BIVA20 air handler units. Compatible with most standard 24 VAC heat pump thermostats.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling R454B refrigerant. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit. Follow all local mechanical and electrical codes, including applicable sections of the NEC, when routing wiring and sizing disconnect means. Do not operate the unit without verifying refrigerant charge, airflow, and crankcase heater energization per the manufacturer installation manual.
