The BOSCH bmac2430bbta is a multi-position cased evaporator coil from the BMAC series, rated at 30,000 BTU/h (2.5 tons nominal) and designed for use with A2L refrigerant R-454B. It is part of a complete evaporator coil lineup ranging from 2 to 5 tons, built to meet low-global warming potential (Low-GWP) refrigerant requirements. The all-aluminum coil construction provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard copper-and-aluminum designs. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil as the indoor heat-transfer component in split-system and heat-pump configurations. Its multi-position drain pan accommodates both horizontal and vertical installations.
The bmac2430bbta is suited for residential and light-commercial split-system applications. It is designed to pair with the Bosch IDS series air-source heat pump condensing section, the Bosch BGH96 96% AFUE gas furnace, and the Bosch RP Split water-source heat pump condensing section. The coil supports R-454B IDS system solutions, making it appropriate for new installations where low-GWP refrigerant compliance is required by local code or customer specification. Its multi-position capability allows the same coil to be used in upflow, downflow, or horizontal air-handler configurations.
Designed to pair with the Bosch ASHP Condensing Section (IDS series), the Bosch 96% AFUE Furnace (BGH96), and the Bosch WSHP Condensing Section (RP Split). Compatible with A2L refrigerant R-454B IDS solutions.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for A2L refrigerants. Power to the air-handler or furnace must be shut off at the disconnect before coil installation or service. Consult local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer installation instructions for drain-pan piping, refrigerant line sizing, and clearance requirements. A2L refrigerants require attention to ignition-source management and ventilation per current ASHRAE 15 and local code requirements.
