The BOSCH biva-24rxb-m15x is a multi-position air handler from the BIVA Series, engineered for residential heat pump systems using R454B refrigerant. Rated up to 15.2 SEER2 and up to 8.5 HSPF2, this unit is built around an all-aluminum evaporator coil for long-term corrosion resistance. It ships with a factory-installed TXV metering device and a factory-installed A2L refrigerant sensor, reducing field labor on startup. A PSC blower motor with three selectable speeds handles airflow demands across a range of duct systems. Licensed HVAC technicians perform installation and startup.
This air handler suits residential new-construction and replacement applications where a multi-position cabinet is required. The unit installs in upflow or horizontal-right orientation as standard, and is field-convertible to horizontal-left or downflow. The 208-230/1/60 electrical configuration covers the most common residential single-phase services. Supplemental or emergency electric heat is supported through accessory kits rated at 5, 7.5, 10, 15, or 20 kW, ordered separately. The unit is compatible with most standard 24 VAC heat pump thermostats, keeping control wiring straightforward on retrofit jobs.
Compatible with most standard 24 VAC heat pump thermostats. Accepts Bosch accessory electric heat kits at 5, 7.5, 10, 15, and 20 kW for supplemental or emergency heating. Designed for use with R454B refrigerant systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before opening the cabinet or servicing the blower assembly. R454B is an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant; follow applicable safety procedures and local regulations for handling and leak detection. Verify condensate drain routing and trap depth before startup, and confirm electric heat accessory kit wiring matches the available supply voltage.
