The BONEHAM SP00008899 is a press fit headless drill bushing conforming to Industry Code P, designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Machined from steel, this bushing features a 0.75 inch body outside diameter and an overall bushing length of 0.625 inches. It is installed without fasteners or locking collars — the interference press fit holds the bushing securely in the jig plate. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders use this style of bushing when a flush, headless profile is required for close-clearance drilling operations.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, production fixtures, and tooling plates where repeatable hole location is critical. The headless P-type design seats flush with or below the surface of the jig plate, making it appropriate for applications where a flanged bushing would interfere with workpiece clamping or part travel. It is a permanent, non-renewable installation intended for high-volume production tooling or dedicated fixtures where the bushing will not need to be swapped out for different drill sizes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for drill jigs and fixtures requiring an Industry Code P headless press fit bushing with a 0.75 inch outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by a toolmaker or machinist using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive them in with a hammer, as uneven force can crack the jig plate or distort the bushing bore. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference-fit tolerance for the P-type bushing outside diameter before installation. Verify the inside diameter designation matches the intended drill or tool shank size before pressing the bushing into place. Once installed, the bushing is considered permanent and removal will typically require the jig plate hole to be reworked.
