The BONEHAM SFT408JQ is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Built to the SF industry code, it features a 0.375 inch inside diameter with a controlled tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring consistent tool alignment across repeated use. The body outside diameter measures 0.625 inches and the length under the head is 0.5 inches. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60-65 HRC, this bushing is a renewable type, meaning it can be removed and replaced without disturbing the drill jig plate. Installation is secured via a compatible LS-TW-2 lock screw. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in production or maintenance environments are the primary installers.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig fixtures across manufacturing, tooling, and metal fabrication applications. The slip-fixed design allows the bushing to be inserted and locked in place within a liner bushing already seated in the jig plate, supporting high-volume drilling operations where bushings require periodic replacement. It conforms to ANSI standards, making it a direct fit in standardized jig tooling setups. The head type configuration with a 0.875 inch head outside diameter and 0.25 inch head height provides positive axial retention against the jig plate surface.
Compatible with LS-TW-2 lock screws. Designed as an ANSI-standard renewable slip-fixed bushing for use in liner-bushing-equipped drill jig fixtures.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists as part of drill jig assembly or maintenance. The bushing is inserted into a pre-installed liner bushing and secured with an LS-TW-2 lock screw. Ensure the jig fixture is clamped and the workpiece is secured before initiating any drilling operation. Do not force the bushing into the liner; confirm bore dimensions are within tolerance before installation.
