The BONEHAM SFT284HB is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Built to industry code SF, this head-type bushing features a 0.242 inch inside diameter (Letter C), a 7/16 inch body outside diameter, and a 5/8 inch head outside diameter. The inside diameter is held to a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent tool guidance and repeatable hole location. Constructed from steel, the SFT284HB delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for production jig and fixture applications. It is a renewable bushing, meaning it can be replaced in the liner without disturbing the jig plate.
The SFT284HB is used in drill jig fixtures across metalworking, fabrication, and machining environments. Its slip-fixed installation method allows the bushing to be rotated into a locked position within a liner bushing, making it suitable for applications where the bushing must be secured during the cut but also needs periodic replacement due to wear. The 1/4 inch length under head and headless-free head design make it appropriate for standard jig plate thicknesses encountered in production and toolroom settings. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
Designed for use with LS-TW-2 compatible lock screws and intended as a renewable slip-fixed bushing for standard drill jig liner applications in production and toolroom fixture setups.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die makers during jig assembly or bushing replacement. Power down and secure any associated machinery before servicing a jig fixture. The bushing is inserted into a mating liner bushing and rotated to the locked position using the head drive slot and a compatible lock screw. Do not force the bushing into a liner with an undersized or worn bore, as this can compromise the inside diameter tolerance and tool guidance accuracy.
