The BONEHAM SFT2812HB is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It carries industry code SF and features a 0.242 inch inside diameter with an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring tight, repeatable tool guidance. The body outside diameter measures 0.4375 inches (7/16 inch) with a 5/8 inch head outside diameter and a 1/4 inch head height. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for production drilling environments. It is a renewable bushing, allowing replacement without disturbing the liner or fixture plate. Lock screw compatibility with the LS-TW-2 fastener secures the bushing in its liner during operation.
The SFT2812HB is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and tooling plates in manufacturing, maintenance, and machine shop environments. The slip-fixed design allows the bushing to be installed and locked in place using a compatible lock screw, making it appropriate for single-operation drilling setups where tool changes are not required mid-cycle. The 3/4 inch length under the head accommodates standard fixture plate thicknesses. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with precision drilling fixtures are the primary installers of this component.
Designed for use with LS-TW-2 compatible lock screws in standard ANSI slip-fixed drill liner systems. Confirm liner inside diameter and fixture plate thickness match the 0.4375 inch body outside diameter and 3/4 inch length under head before installation.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists familiar with drill jig assembly. Press or hand-seat the bushing into the appropriate liner, then secure with an LS-TW-2 compatible lock screw. Ensure the fixture and workpiece are properly clamped and all rotating equipment is de-energized before servicing or replacing bushings. Do not force an oversized bushing into a liner, as this can damage bore geometry and compromise tool guidance accuracy.
