The BONEHAM SF488LK is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to industry code SF, this bushing features a 0.5000-inch inside diameter, a 0.75-inch body outside diameter, and a 0.5-inch length under head. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers the wear resistance required for high-cycle production drilling. The headed design and LS-1 compatible lock screw allow secure, repeatable positioning in the liner bushing without permanent press-fit installation. It is installed and serviced by toolroom machinists, fixture builders, and precision manufacturing technicians.
This bushing is intended for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures where the bushing must be changed out between operations or replaced for different drill sizes without disturbing the liner. The slip-fixed configuration allows the bushing to be locked in position during drilling and removed when the operation is complete. It is well suited for production environments running multiple operations on a single fixture, including drilling, reaming, and counterboring sequences where positional accuracy is critical.
Designed for use with LS-1 series lock screws and standard liner bushings conforming to ANSI slip-fixed bushing specifications. Fits fixtures and jig plates machined to accept 0.75-inch body outside diameter SF-type bushings.
Installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified toolroom machinist or fixture technician. Ensure the fixture plate and liner bushing are clean and free of chips or burrs before inserting the bushing. Secure with the appropriate LS-1 lock screw to prevent rotation during the cutting operation. Always verify inside diameter tolerance compatibility with the tool shank before putting the fixture into production.
