The BONEHAM SF4828IR is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides consistent bore alignment and long service life under repeated drilling cycles. The inside diameter is 0.323 inches (letter size P) with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring tight positional accuracy. A headed design and LS-1 compatible lock screw make installation and removal straightforward for toolroom technicians and machinists working with renewable bushing systems.
This bushing is suited for production drilling, reaming, and boring operations in industrial jigs and fixtures. The SF industry code designates a slip-fixed style, which allows the bushing to be installed into a liner bushing and locked in place during the operation. It is a renewable bushing, meaning it can be replaced independently of the liner when wear occurs, reducing fixture maintenance costs. Typical users include machining shops, tool and die operations, and assembly fixtures requiring repeatable hole location.
Designed for use with LS-1 lock screws and standard liner bushings conforming to ANSI slip-fixed bushing specifications. Compatible with jig and fixture systems that accept a 0.75 inch body outside diameter SF-style renewable bushing.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before servicing, ensure the drill press or machining center is fully de-energized and the workpiece fixture is secured. Use the appropriate LS-1 lock screw to retain the bushing during operation and verify seating in the liner bushing before running the tool. Do not force the bushing into a liner with a mismatch in outside diameter, as this will damage the bore alignment.
