The BONEHAM SF4812LP is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed for precision tooling and jig applications in metalworking and machining operations. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it provides a wear-resistant guide surface for drill bits and other cutting tools. The bushing features a 33/64 inch inside diameter with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, a 3/4 inch body outside diameter, and a 3/4 inch length under the head. The SF industry code designates this as a slip-fixed style, meaning it installs into a liner bushing and locks in place with a compatible lock screw. It is renewable and compatible with the LS-1 lock screw. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of bushing in drill jig assemblies.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and precision tooling setups found in manufacturing, fabrication, and machine shop environments. The slip-fixed design allows the bushing to be removed and replaced without disturbing the jig plate, making it well suited for production runs where different operations require bushing changes. The head style provides a positive seating surface against the jig plate. ANSI standards govern its dimensional specifications, ensuring interchangeability with other ANSI-conforming components.
Designed for use with ANSI-standard liner bushings and LS-1 compatible lock screws in drill jig and fixture assemblies. Dimensional conformance to ANSI standards ensures fitment with other ANSI-conforming jig components.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians. The slip-fixed bushing is pressed or slipped into a mating liner bushing already installed in the jig plate and secured with an LS-1 lock screw. Ensure the machine is de-energized and all moving parts are at rest before servicing the jig assembly. Inspect the liner bushing bore and mating surfaces for wear or damage prior to installing a replacement bushing.
