The BONEHAM SF328HG is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed for precision guidance of cutting tools in jig and fixture applications. Built to industry code SF, this bushing features a 0.25 inch inside diameter and a 0.5 inch body outside diameter, with a head outside diameter of approximately 0.797 inches and a head height of 0.25 inches. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers the wear resistance required for repeatable, high-tolerance drilling operations. The inside diameter tolerance is held to a tight plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent tool alignment across production runs. Installation is of the slip-fixed type, and the bushing is compatible with LS-1 lock screws.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and precision machining fixtures found in industrial, toolroom, and production environments. The SF-style slip-fixed configuration allows the bushing to be removed and exchanged during operations that require multiple tool passes through the same hole, such as drilling followed by reaming or counterboring. The 0.5 inch length under head provides adequate support depth for typical jig plate thicknesses. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in metalworking shops are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an ANSI-standard SF-series slip-fixed drill bushing compatible with LS-1 lock screws. Fits standard jig plates and fixtures bored to accept a 0.5 inch body outside diameter bushing.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists. The jig plate must be precision-bored to accept the 0.5 inch body OD before pressing or slipping the bushing into place. Ensure the lock screw hole in the jig plate is aligned and the LS-1 lock screw is used to secure the bushing during cutting operations. Replace worn bushings before inside diameter wear exceeds the stated tolerance band to maintain hole location accuracy.
