The BONEHAM SF328EZ is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed for use in jig and fixture tooling applications. It features a 0.161 inch (number 20 wire gauge) inside diameter with tight tolerance control of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring accurate and repeatable hole location during drilling operations. The body measures 0.500 inch outside diameter with a 0.797 inch head outside diameter and a 0.250 inch head height. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers long service life under production drilling conditions. It is compatible with the LS-1 lock screw and meets ANSI standards. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders install this bushing in drill jigs for precision guided drilling.
The SF328EZ is suited for production and inspection fixtures where consistent hole positioning is critical. The slip-fixed style allows the bushing to be installed and retained in a liner bushing, making it practical for tooling setups that require tool changes between operations. The 0.500 inch body outside diameter and 0.500 inch length under head fit standard jig plate configurations. This bushing is renewable, meaning it can be replaced without scrapping the fixture plate, reducing tooling maintenance cost over time.
Designed as a slip-fixed style replacement bushing compatible with LS-1 lock screws and standard liner bushings in ANSI-compliant drill jigs and fixtures.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists assembling or servicing drill jigs and fixtures. The bushing slips into a mating liner bushing and is secured with an LS-1 lock screw — verify the lock screw is fully engaged before operating. Ensure the fixture is de-energized and the drill press or machining center is powered down before replacing bushings. Do not press or hammer the bushing directly on the head flange, as this may damage the precision bore.
