The BONEHAM SF208BL is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features an inside diameter of 0.055 inches (wire gauge No. 54) with a close tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a body outside diameter of 0.3125 inches (5/16 inch), and a length under head of 0.5 inches (1/2 inch). Constructed from steel, this bushing includes a head and is counterbored for secure seating in a drill jig plate. It is compatible with the LS-1 lock screw for positive retention during use. This part is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and production fixture builders working in precision drilling and reaming operations.
The SF208BL is suited for use in slip-fixed bushing applications where the bushing must be removed and replaced during a multi-operation drilling sequence without disturbing the liner bushing. It is a renewable bushing, meaning it can be swapped out independently when worn, reducing fixture maintenance costs. Typical installations are found in production jig plates used across metalworking, aerospace component fabrication, and general machining environments. The head-style design allows the bushing to seat flush against the jig plate surface and resist axial pull-through under drilling loads.
Designed as a slip-fixed (SF industry code) renewable drill bushing compatible with LS-1 lock screws and standard liner bushings sized for a 0.3125-inch body outside diameter.
This bushing is installed and removed by hand or with a bushing puller tool — no press-fit force is required for the slip-fixed style. Ensure the mating liner bushing and lock screw slot are clean and free of chips before seating. Always secure the LS-1 lock screw before beginning any drilling or reaming operation to prevent rotation or ejection. Verify that the jig plate counterbore depth matches the head height to achieve a flush seating surface.
