The BONEHAM PT245GF is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides a wear-resistant bore that maintains accurate hole location through repeated drilling cycles. The headless profile sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it the right choice where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece seating or clamping. It installs by press fit into a prepared bore and is non-renewable, intended as a permanent fixture component. The 0.204-inch ID accommodates a number 6 wire gauge or equivalent drill diameter.
This bushing is suited for production drilling jigs, assembly fixtures, and tooling plates in metalworking and manufacturing environments. Industry code P identifies it as a standard headless press fit type per ANSI specifications. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in job shops, production facilities, or maintenance departments are the typical installers. The 3/8-inch outside diameter and 5/16-inch overall length fit compact fixture layouts where space between operations is limited.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing (industry code P) for use in metalworking jigs and fixture plates requiring a permanent, flush-mount tool guide with a 0.204-inch bore and 3/8-inch OD mounting hole.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive this bushing with a hammer, as impact can distort the bore or crack the surrounding jig plate material. The receiving bore in the fixture plate must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal and replacement. Follow applicable shop safety practices and fixture design standards when preparing the host plate.
