The BONEHAM PT2412GD is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. With a 0.201 inch inside diameter (wire size No. 7), a 3/8 inch body outside diameter, and a 3/4 inch overall length, this bushing fits tightly into a mating hole without the use of a retaining head or lock. The headless profile sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for close-tolerance work where a head flange would interfere with workpiece seating. Hardness runs 60 to 65 HRC, providing the wear resistance needed for repetitive production drilling operations. Machinists, tool and die makers, and jig builders are the primary installers.
This bushing is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling bodies across metalworking and machining environments, both in job shops and production facilities. The press fit installation method means the bushing is driven or pressed directly into a reamed hole in the jig plate and is intended to remain permanently in place. It is not a renewable or slip-fixed style bushing. Typical applications include guiding twist drills, reamers, and similar tools in repetitive hole-location operations where consistent positional accuracy is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for standard ANSI-compliant press fit headless bushing applications in jig and fixture tooling.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or tool and die makers using an arbor press or hydraulic press into a precision-reamed hole sized to the bushing outside diameter tolerance. Power down all machinery before handling tooling components. The bushing is not designed for removal after installation — use a renewable bushing style if changeout will be required. Verify hole preparation meets ANSI press fit specifications before driving the bushing to avoid galling or dimensional distortion.
