The BONEHAM P8816NW is a press fit headless drill bushing manufactured from steel and designed to guide drill bits, reamers, and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. With a 0.875 inch inside diameter, a 1.375 inch body outside diameter, and a 1 inch overall length, this bushing provides accurate hole-location guidance in production drilling operations. It carries an ANSI-compliant design and achieves a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, delivering the wear resistance required in repetitive machining cycles. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs where permanent, non-renewable tool guidance is acceptable. The headless profile allows the bushing to sit flush with the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for close-tolerance work where a head flange would interfere with the workpiece or clamp travel. It is a fixed, non-renewable design, meaning it is intended to remain in place once pressed in. Typical applications include production drilling fixtures in metalworking shops, precision machining cells, and custom jig fabrication for both prototype and high-volume manufacturing environments.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing suitable for use in drill jigs and fixtures that accept a 1.375 inch body outside diameter bushing with a 0.875 inch inside diameter bore.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool-and-die maker using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a precision-reamed jig plate bore. The mating bore in the jig plate should be sized to achieve the correct interference fit per ANSI jig bushing standards. Do not use impact tools to seat the bushing, as this can damage the bore geometry or alter the inside diameter tolerance. Once pressed in, this non-renewable bushing is not intended to be removed and reused.
