The BONEHAM P6428MX is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from steel, this bushing features a 23/32-inch inside diameter, a 1-inch outside diameter, and an overall length of 1-3/4 inches. The headless design allows it to sit flush with or below the surface of the jig plate, making it well suited for applications where a protruding flange would interfere with workpiece clearance. It is installed by pressing directly into a jig plate bore without fasteners or locking hardware.
This bushing is used in precision machining environments including tool and die shops, production machining facilities, and fabrication operations where repeatable hole location is required. It fits standard drill jig applications calling for a Type P headless bushing. Machinists, toolmakers, and jig-and-fixture builders are the typical end users. The press fit installation method ensures the bushing stays fixed under normal drill thrust loads without the need for additional retention hardware.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation option for standard Type P headless press fit drill bushings in tool and die jig plates requiring a 23/32-inch ID and 1-inch OD.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press sized for the bushing OD. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not intended for removal or reuse. Always verify bore alignment and cleanliness before pressing the bushing into place.
