The BONEHAM P6412MX is a press fit headless drill bushing used to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to Industry Code P, this bushing features a 23/32-inch inside diameter, a 1-inch outside diameter, and a 3/4-inch overall length. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, the P6412MX provides consistent bore guidance under repeated drilling cycles. The headless design allows the bushing to sit flush within a drill jig plate, minimizing interference with the workpiece surface. Machinists, toolmakers, and production operators install this type of bushing in steel jig plates where tight tolerances are required.
This bushing is suited for use in production drilling jigs, tooling fixtures, and inspection setups where repeatable hole location is critical. The press fit installation method provides a secure, permanent seat in the jig plate without additional fasteners or hardware. The inside diameter tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0005 inches ensures accurate drill guidance across high-volume operations. Typical applications include metalworking production environments where drill bushing replacement or initial fixture build-out is performed by tool and die or machining trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for steel jig plates and tooling fixtures requiring an Industry Code P press fit headless bushing with a 23/32-inch inside diameter.
Press fit drill bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing flush into a prepared hole in the jig plate. The receiving bore in the plate must be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance for the 1-inch outside diameter before installation. Do not strike the bushing directly with a hammer, as this can damage the bore geometry or alter hardness at the contact surface. This is a non-renewable bushing and is not designed for field removal and reinstallation once pressed into place.
