The BONEHAM P4022IR is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel with a hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides durable, wear-resistant performance in high-repetition drilling operations. The 0.323 inch inside diameter accepts a P-size drill, the body outside diameter measures 5/8 inch, and the overall length is 1-3/8 inches. The headless design allows the bushing to sit flush within the jig plate without a protruding flange, making it suitable for close-clearance and multi-station tooling setups. Installation is permanent via press fit, and the bushing is not renewable once installed. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and precision metalworking shops are the primary users.
This bushing is used in drill jigs and fixture plates where repeatable hole location is required across production runs. It is appropriate for both light-duty and moderate-production metalworking environments. The P industry code and ANSI-conforming dimensions make it interchangeable with standard P-series headless drill bushings from other ANSI-compliant suppliers. Typical applications include through-plate drilling setups in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where the bushing is pressed directly into a reamed hole in the jig body.
Conforms to ANSI standards for P-series headless press fit drill bushings. The 0.323 inch inside diameter accepts a P-size letter drill. Interchangeable with other ANSI-standard P-series headless drill bushings sharing the same 5/8 inch OD and 1-3/8 inch overall length.
Installation is performed by tool and die makers or machinists using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig must be reamed to the appropriate press fit tolerance to ensure proper retention. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, removal will typically damage the bushing and may affect the jig plate bore. Confirm hole preparation and bushing alignment before applying press force.
