The BONEHAM P4012JJ is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in production drilling operations. This bushing carries industry code P and features a 23/64-inch inside diameter with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring consistent hole location and minimal tool runout. The 5/8-inch outside diameter body presses directly into a jig plate or fixture without a retaining flange, keeping the top surface flush. Constructed from steel, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for repetitive drilling cycles. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures in metalworking, fabrication, and manufacturing environments. Its headless design makes it the correct choice when a flush or recessed bushing seat is required and a flanged head would interfere with workpiece clamping or part movement. The 3/4-inch overall length provides adequate guidance depth for standard drill diameters in light-to-medium duty jig applications. It is not renewable and is intended as a fixed, press-fit installation within the jig body.
Designed as a standard P-series press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures that accept a 5/8-inch outside diameter bushing bore.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinist-grade personnel using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush and square into a prepared jig plate bore. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing to avoid cracking or misalignment. Do not hammer the bushing in with impact tools, as this can damage the inside diameter or distort the bushing body. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and reuse.
