The BONEHAM P324HD is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools during precision drilling operations. Classified under Industry Code P, this bushing features a 0.246 inch inside diameter (Letter D), a 0.5 inch body outside diameter, and a 0.25 inch overall length. The headless design sits flush with the jig plate surface, making it well suited for applications where a protruding head would interfere with workpiece clearance or tool travel. Machined from steel with an inside diameter tolerance of positive 0.0001 to positive 0.0004 inches, the P324HD delivers the close-tolerance guidance required for repeatable hole location in production and toolroom environments. Installation is accomplished by pressing the bushing into a prepared liner or jig plate bore.
This bushing is used in drill jig fixtures across metalworking, fabrication, and machine shop applications. It is appropriate for production runs where consistent hole placement is critical and where a permanent, non-renewable bushing is acceptable. The compact 0.25 inch length suits thin jig plates and close-clearance fixture designs. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component in both job shop and manufacturing settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or original-installation press fit headless drill bushing conforming to Industry Code P specifications, suitable for use in standard drill jig fixtures requiring a 0.5 inch OD press fit bore and a 0.246 inch tool guide diameter.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press to seat the bushing flush into a precision-bored liner hole in the jig plate. The receiving bore must be prepared to the appropriate press fit tolerance to ensure secure retention without distorting the bushing ID. Do not hammer the bushing directly without a proper driver to avoid damaging the ground inside diameter. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and replacement.
