The BONEHAM P268FT is a headless, press fit drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. Machined from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers consistent bore alignment and resists wear under repeated drilling cycles. It carries an inside diameter of 3/16 inches (0.1875 inches decimal), a body outside diameter of 13/32 inches, and an overall length of 1/2 inch. The tight inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches ensures accurate drill guidance with minimal deviation. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in production or maintenance environments install this type of bushing as a permanent, non-renewable component in drill jigs.
The P268FT is suited for use in press fit drill jig applications where a headless profile is required for flush or recessed installation. Its headless design allows the bushing to sit below or flush with the jig plate surface, which is useful when workpiece clearance is limited or when multiple bushings must be closely spaced. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushing dimensions, making it a drop-in fit in tooling built to those specifications. Typical applications include production drilling fixtures in metal fabrication, aerospace tooling, and general machining environments.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a 3/16-inch inside diameter guide bore and a 13/32-inch body outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never driven in with a hammer, as impact can distort the bore or crack the jig plate. The mating jig plate hole must be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance for the 13/32-inch outside diameter before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal or replacement. Verify bore alignment in the fixture before pressing to final depth.
