The BONEHAM LS3 is a drill bushing lock screw designed to secure press-fit and slip-renewable drill bushings in jig plates and fixture bodies. The screw features a 3/8-16 thread and measures 1 inch in overall length, with a 3/4-inch head diameter and a 7/16-inch shoulder diameter. The combined head and shoulder length is 3/8 inch. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders install this fastener when assembling drill jigs that require positive bushing retention under repeated tooling passes.
The LS3 lock screw is used in metalworking and machining applications where slip-renewable drill bushings must be locked in position during drilling, reaming, or boring operations. It is suited for production jig fixtures in both job shop and manufacturing environments where bushing replacement frequency demands a reliable, thread-engaged retention method.
Designed as an OEM-style retention fastener compatible with standard slip-renewable drill bushings requiring a 3/8-16 lock screw.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolmakers during jig assembly or bushing replacement. Ensure the jig plate is secured and clear of cutting tools before removing or installing the lock screw. Use a properly sized driver or wrench to seat the screw without overtightening, which can damage the bushing flange or the tapped hole. Follow applicable workplace safety and fixture standards for the machining environment.
