The BONEHAM L11248RA is a headless L-style drill bushing liner machined from alloy steel and hardened to 60-65 HRC for long service life in high-cycle drilling applications. It features a 1-3/8 inch inside diameter, a 1-3/4 inch body outside diameter, and a 3 inch overall liner length. The press fit installation method locks the bushing securely into a jig plate or fixture body without the need for a head flange. Machinists, toolmakers, and jig-and-fixture builders install this type of liner as the permanent component of a two-piece drill bushing system, where renewable slip or fixed bushings are inserted and replaced without disturbing the liner.
This liner is suited for production drilling fixtures, tooling plates, and drill jigs used in metalworking and manufacturing environments. The L industry code designates the liner type under standard tooling classifications, making it a direct-reference part for shops working from engineering drawings that call out L-series liners. It is appropriate for both light-duty prototype fixtures and high-volume production tooling where precise hole location and bushing renewability are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for drill jig fixtures requiring a headless L-series liner with a 1-3/8 inch inside diameter and press fit installation.
Press fit installation requires a hydraulic or mechanical arbor press; do not drive with a hammer to avoid distorting the bore. The receiving hole in the fixture plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance for L-series liners per standard tooling practice. Ensure the fixture plate is properly supported and the liner is started square before pressing to final depth. This component is installed by qualified toolmakers or machinists — no field modification of the liner bore is recommended after pressing.
