The BONEHAM HL4828LK is an HL-series drill bushing liner with a head, designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. The liner features a 1/2 inch inside diameter and a 3/4 inch body outside diameter, making it a fixed locating component that accepts renewable slip bushings or pressing directly into a drill jig plate. Constructed from alloy steel for wear resistance and dimensional stability, this liner installs via press fit. At 1-3/4 inches in liner length with a 3/32 inch head height, it provides a consistent drilling reference across repetitive production operations. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
This liner is suited for use in drill jigs where a permanent or semi-permanent bushing seat is required. The head style keeps the liner from being pushed through the jig plate during assembly or operation, making it appropriate for through-hole jig plate setups. Typical applications include metalworking shops, aerospace component production, and general manufacturing environments that rely on jig drilling for hole location accuracy. The HL industry code indicates conformance to standard drill bushing liner sizing conventions widely recognized across the tooling industry.
Designed as an OEM-style HL-series drill bushing liner suitable for standard drill jig plates and fixtures that accept press fit liners with a 3/4 inch body outside diameter and 1/2 inch inside diameter.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the liner flush or to shoulder in the jig plate bore. The jig plate bore should be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance for the 3/4 inch body outside diameter before installation. Do not hammer the liner in freehand, as this can damage the head or distort the bore. Verify bore alignment before pressing to avoid binding or angular misalignment of the liner.
