The BONEHAM H888OE is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing machined from steel, designed to guide twist drills, reamers, and other cutting tools with precision during drilling operations. With an inside diameter of 59/64 inches and a body outside diameter of 1-3/8 inches, this bushing presses directly into a drill jig plate without the need for a locking collar or additional fasteners. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig surface, controlling depth and preventing the bushing from being pushed through under tool pressure. It is a permanent, non-renewable installation intended for high-volume or fixed-application tooling setups.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig fixtures in metalworking, fabrication, and production machining environments. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders install Type H bushings when a renewable bushing is not required and a low-profile, flush-seated guide is acceptable. The 1/2-inch length under head provides adequate tool guidance for standard-depth drilling operations on steel, aluminum, and other structural materials.
Designed for use in drill jig plates and fixtures that accept Type H press fit headed bushings with a 1-3/8 inch body outside diameter. Consult jig plate specifications to confirm bore size and clearance before installation.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or tool-and-die makers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — do not drive with a hammer, as uneven force can damage the bushing bore or distort the jig plate. Ensure the receiving bore in the jig plate is machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing. Once installed, Type H press fit bushings are considered permanent and are not intended for field removal or replacement. Verify bushing orientation and seating depth before committing to the press operation.
