The BONEHAM H888NC is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing used to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, and honing operations. Machined from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it provides a durable, wear-resistant bore that maintains precise hole location across repeated operations. The inside diameter measures 0.7500 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, making it suitable for tight-tolerance jig and fixture work. The headed design seats the bushing flush against the jig plate and prevents axial movement during use. This part is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in precision machining environments.
The H888NC fits standard drill jig plates and fixtures where a permanent, non-renewable press fit bushing is required. The Type H designation follows ANSI standards for headed drill bushings, making it a direct fit in jig setups designed to that specification. With a body outside diameter of 1-3/8 inches and a length under the head of 1/2 inch, it is suited for moderate jig plate thicknesses. The head outside diameter of 1-39/64 inches and head height of 3/8 inch provide a stable flange bearing surface. Typical applications include production drilling fixtures in metal fabrication, aerospace component manufacturing, and general machining shops.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a permanent Type H bushing with a 3/4-inch bore.
Press fit bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press — never drive them in with a hammer, as this can damage the bore or distort the bushing body. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance per ANSI bushing standards before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is considered permanent and is not designed for removal and reuse. Ensure all machinery is fully de-energized and workpieces are properly secured before installing or servicing jig fixtures.
