The BONEHAM H486JE is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel for use in precision drilling and machining operations. It features an inside diameter of 0.348 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, a body outside diameter of 3/4 inch, and a length under head of 3/8 inch. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, ensuring consistent drill depth and accurate hole location across repeated operations. This bushing is a permanent, non-renewable press fit style, intended for installation into drill jig plates and fixtures where the bushing position will not require routine replacement.
The H486JE is suited for use in machine shops, toolrooms, and production environments where drill jigs require fixed, permanent bushing installations. It is appropriate for applications in metal fabrication, assembly jigs, and general precision drilling fixtures. The headed style is commonly used where the bushing must be retained flush against the top surface of a jig plate without additional locking hardware. Machinists and toolmakers working with standard drill jig setups will find this bushing compatible with typical jig plate thicknesses at this size range.
Designed as an OEM-style permanent press fit drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates and machining fixtures requiring a Type H headed bushing configuration.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush within the jig plate bore. The jig plate bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Power down all associated machinery before servicing or replacing any jig components. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or reuse — do not attempt to drive it out with impact tools, as this may damage the surrounding jig plate material.
