The BONEHAM H104BL is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel for precision hole location and guided drilling operations. It features an inside diameter of 0.055 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a body outside diameter of 5/32 inches, and a length under the head of 1/4 inches. The head outside diameter measures 1/4 inches and the head height measures 3/32 inches. This bushing is pressed directly into a jig plate without a locking mechanism, making it a fixed, non-renewable component suited to high-volume or dedicated fixture applications. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders work with this type of bushing in precision drilling jigs and production tooling setups.
The H104BL is used in drill jig applications where consistent, repeatable hole location is required across production runs. The headed design seats against the jig plate surface, resisting axial pullout from cutting forces. The press fit installation method eliminates the need for locking collars or liners, keeping the fixture profile low and reducing component count. Typical applications include metalworking production fixtures, assembly jigs, and quality inspection tooling in both shop and manufacturing environments.
Designed as a direct-fit press fit headed drill bushing for standard drill jig plates requiring a Type H bushing with a 5/32-inch body outside diameter and 0.055-inch inside diameter bore.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing flush against the jig plate. The hole in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance to ensure proper retention and prevent movement during use. Never drive the bushing in with a hammer directly on the head, as this can damage the seating surface or alter the bore geometry. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, removal typically damages the component and requires replacement.
