The BONEHAM AM00000668 is a press fit headless drill bushing in the PM industry code classification, designed to guide drill bits with precision during machining and fabrication operations. Constructed from steel, this bushing is pressed directly into a jig plate without a head flange, keeping the top surface flush for close-tolerance work. It carries an inside diameter of 7.4 inches, a body outside diameter of approximately 0.472 inches (12.00 mm), and an overall length of approximately 0.630 inches (16.00 mm). The part weighs 0.37 pounds. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders install this component in drill jig assemblies where repeatable hole location is required.
This bushing is suited for industrial machining environments where a permanent, non-renewable guide bushing is needed. It is pressed into the jig body and is not intended to be removed and replaced during normal service. Typical applications include production drilling fixtures, assembly jigs, and tooling plates used in metal fabrication shops and manufacturing facilities. The headless profile is preferred when clearance above the jig plate surface must be minimized or when a mating bushing liner is not part of the fixture design.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for standard drill jig fixtures that accept PM-series press fit headless bushings per common tooling industry dimensional standards.
Press fit bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press; hand tools are not sufficient to ensure proper seating without risk of damage. The jig plate bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not designed for field removal or reuse. Always verify bore diameter and surface finish before pressing to avoid bushing distortion.
