The BON DIGA105 is a 5-gallon gopher wire basket designed to protect newly planted trees, shrubs, and other landscape plantings from burrowing rodent damage below grade. Measuring 12 inches in diameter by 14 inches in depth, the basket is installed directly in the planting hole to surround the root ball and act as a physical barrier against gophers and moles. Landscapers, irrigation contractors, and grounds maintenance crews use this product as a standard practice on commercial and residential planting projects where subsurface rodent pressure is a known issue.
This basket is sized to match a standard 5-gallon container plant, making it a direct fit for the most common nursery stock used in residential landscaping and commercial site work. It is set into the planting hole before backfilling, with the plant root ball seated inside. The wire construction allows for root expansion and normal drainage while keeping the root zone protected during the critical establishment period.
Designed for use with standard 5-gallon container plants as an in-ground rodent barrier basket for residential and commercial landscape installation.
Installed by landscapers or grounds maintenance crews as part of standard tree and shrub planting procedures. Dig the planting hole to the appropriate depth, set the wire basket in place, seat the root ball inside, and backfill according to local horticultural guidelines. No special tools are required beyond standard digging equipment. Wear gloves when handling wire baskets to avoid cuts from wire ends.
