The BON 86-3000 is a 16-gauge black annealed tie wire supplied in a 3.5-pound roll. Black annealing softens the steel wire, making it pliable and easy to twist by hand or with a wire twister tool without snapping. Tie wire at this gauge is a standard consumable on concrete and masonry jobsites, used to bundle and secure rebar before and during concrete pours. It is a daily-use item for ironworkers, concrete finishers, and masonry contractors.
This tie wire is suited for residential and commercial concrete flatwork, foundations, walls, columns, and poured-in-place slabs. The 3.5-pound roll size is practical for field carry in an apron or roll holder. Ironworkers and form setters use this wire to tie rebar intersections and laps to maintain spacing and prevent shifting during the pour. It is also used for general bundling tasks on framing and masonry work.
Designed as a standard 16-gauge black annealed tie wire replacement roll suitable for general rebar tying and concrete reinforcement work.
Used by ironworkers and concrete contractors in accordance with ACI reinforcement-placing guidelines. Wire can be applied with a wire twister tool or by hand using standard hook-and-twist technique. Wear gloves when handling cut wire ends to avoid puncture injuries. Keep rolls dry during storage to prevent surface rust that can reduce workability.
