The BON 19-0001 is a professional-grade high tension hacksaw designed for cutting metal pipe, conduit, strut, and other materials commonly encountered in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical trade work. It accepts a standard 12 inch blade with a 24 teeth-per-inch (TPI) count, making it suited for clean cuts through thin-wall metal and plastic. High tension blade mounting keeps the blade rigid under load, reducing blade flex and improving cut accuracy. Licensed tradespeople and experienced DIYers rely on this tool for field cutting tasks where a powered saw is impractical.
This hacksaw fits into general-purpose trade applications across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. It is a practical hand tool for cutting threaded rod, small-diameter copper or steel pipe, EMT conduit, and unistrut channel. The 24 TPI blade configuration is particularly effective on thin-walled tubing and sheet metal, where coarser blades would grab or strip. It works equally well on the service truck or at the bench.
Designed for use with standard 12 inch hacksaw blades. Replacement blades with 24 TPI or alternate tooth counts in the 12 inch length are widely available and interchangeable with this frame.
No power source or lockout procedure is required for hand tool use, but always ensure workpieces are securely clamped or held in a vise before cutting to prevent movement and blade breakage. Wear appropriate eye protection when cutting metal, as chips and blade fragments can be ejected during use. Follow blade manufacturer tensioning guidance when replacing the blade. Dispose of used blades in a sharps or blade disposal container to prevent injury.
