The BMI USA 6421 is a lead-free brass threaded tee fitting designed for use in potable water and general plumbing distribution systems. It features a 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/8 inch configuration, with two 1/2-inch run ports and one 3/8-inch branch outlet. Constructed from solid brass, this fitting delivers reliable corrosion resistance and mechanical strength at threaded connections. Its lead-free construction meets requirements for use in drinking water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in work where a branch takeoff is needed on a supply line.
This tee fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a 1/2-inch supply line requires a 3/8-inch branch connection — a common configuration at fixture supply stops, water heater connections, and distribution manifold branches. The threaded end connections make it compatible with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings. It is appropriate for use in potable water lines where lead-free materials are required by code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install threaded brass tee for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch NPT-threaded pipe connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disassembling any existing fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope rated for potable water to all male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
