The BMI USA 6379 is a lead-free brass street 90-degree elbow fitting designed for threaded piping systems. It connects two threaded pipe sections at a 90-degree angle in a compact street configuration, where one end is a male thread and the other is a female thread, eliminating the need for an additional nipple in tight spaces. At 2 inches, this fitting is built for higher-flow plumbing and mechanical applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work on water distribution and hydronic systems.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where space constraints require a direct male-to-female connection at a right angle. The 2-inch size makes it appropriate for main distribution lines, mechanical room piping, and similar moderate-to-high flow applications. Its lead-free construction meets the requirements of jurisdictions enforcing no-lead standards for potable water systems.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass street elbow for use in standard NPT threaded piping systems at the 2-inch pipe size.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before beginning any fitting work. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to a proper fit without overtorquing, which can crack brass fittings. Inspect for leaks after restoring system pressure.
