The BMI USA 6377 is a 1-1/4 inch lead-free brass street 90-degree elbow designed for threaded pipe connections in plumbing systems. This male-to-female (MF) configuration allows the fitting to thread directly into another fitting without a nipple, saving space in tight installations. Constructed from lead-free brass, it meets safe drinking water requirements for potable water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting when a 90-degree directional change is needed in a threaded line. Its solid brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability in both hot and cold water service.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a 1-1/4 inch threaded street elbow is required. Typical applications include supply line routing, fixture connections, and branch line changes of direction. The street configuration is especially useful in tight spaces where back-to-back fittings must be avoided. It is compatible with standard NPT threaded pipe and fittings of the same nominal size.
Designed as a standard NPT threaded replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 inch threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to all male threads before assembly, and tighten fittings to hand-tight plus an appropriate number of turns — do not over-torque brass fittings. Inspect for leaks after restoring pressure.
