The BMI USA 6304 is a lead-free brass threaded 90-degree elbow fitting designed for use in potable water, plumbing, and fluid distribution systems. This fitting changes pipe direction by 90 degrees and connects via threaded ends, making it a standard solution for tight-space routing in both new construction and repair work. At 0.25 pounds, it is a compact, durable component suited for installations where lead-free compliance is required under applicable plumbing codes. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This elbow is intended for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a 1/2-inch threaded connection is required. It is well suited for water supply lines, hydronic heating branch connections, and similar low-to-moderate pressure piping systems. The lead-free construction makes it appropriate for installations subject to the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act and state-level lead-free mandates.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use threaded elbow fitting for 1/2-inch pipe thread applications in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to male threads before assembly and tighten with appropriate pipe wrenches — do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged. Verify all connections are leak-free before restoring system pressure.
