The BMI USA 6204 is a lead-free brass 45-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe systems in residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Street elbows accept a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other, allowing a direction change without requiring an additional nipple. Constructed from solid brass, this fitting provides reliable corrosion resistance and durable thread engagement. At 0.19 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting suited for tight installations where a standard elbow and nipple combination would add unnecessary bulk.
This fitting is intended for use in potable water supply lines, hydronic systems, and general plumbing rough-in work where a 45-degree directional change is required on a 1/2 inch threaded run. Lead-free construction meets requirements for use in drinking water systems under applicable plumbing codes. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and service work on residential and light commercial systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch NPT threaded plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC requirements for lead-free fittings on potable water systems. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to a proper thread engagement without over-torquing, which can crack brass fittings. Inspect for leaks after restoring system pressure.
