The BMI USA 6201 is a lead-free brass 45-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe systems. This fitting connects two threaded pipe sections at a 45-degree angle and is used to redirect flow in tight spaces where a full elbow would not fit. The street configuration features one male-threaded end and one female-threaded end, allowing it to thread directly into another fitting without a nipple. At 0.05 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and gas distribution work.
This fitting is appropriate for use in water supply, gas, and general plumbing distribution systems where lead-free brass construction is required. The 1/8-inch size makes it a common choice for low-flow branch connections, instrumentation ports, pilot gas lines, and other small-diameter applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers, though HVAC technicians frequently use fittings of this type in gas piping and controls work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation threaded brass street elbow for 1/8-inch NPT pipe systems in plumbing, gas, and HVAC applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes, IPC, or IFGC requirements. Shut off the water or gas supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as this can crack the fitting body.
