The BMI USA 6143 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce pipe connections from a 2-inch female thread to a 3/4-inch male thread. Used in threaded piping systems, this fitting provides a secure, pressure-rated transition between two different pipe sizes. The hexagonal body allows for wrench engagement, making installation straightforward and repeatable. At 0.81 pounds, it is a solid, full-brass construction fitting suited for plumbing, HVAC hydronic, and general mechanical piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This hex bushing is applicable in residential and light commercial piping systems where a threaded size reduction is required. It is commonly installed in water supply lines, hydronic heating loops, and general mechanical piping where a 2-inch to 3/4-inch threaded transition is needed. The lead-free brass construction meets requirements for potable water service applications.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting for use in standard NPT threaded piping systems requiring a 2-inch to 3/4-inch reducing connection in plumbing and mechanical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before installing or removing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads prior to assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
