The BMI USA 6141 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce pipe thread connections from a larger nominal pipe size to a smaller one. It features a hexagonal outer body that allows for wrench engagement during installation, making it practical for tight spaces where a standard fitting would be difficult to thread by hand. At 0.88 pounds, this fitting is solid brass construction and is sized at 2 inches by 1-1/4 inches. It is suited for plumbing, HVAC piping, and general trade applications where a reliable, threaded pipe reduction is required.
This hex bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical systems where a male-to-female threaded reduction is needed between pipe sections. The lead-free brass construction makes it appropriate for potable water applications in jurisdictions that enforce lead-free standards for fittings in contact with drinking water. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install threaded brass hex bushing for standard NPT pipe systems requiring a 2 inch to 1-1/4 inch reduction.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before threading this bushing into the fitting or valve body. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before installation. Do not over-tighten, as over-torquing brass fittings can crack the hex body or damage female threads in softer mating materials.
