The BMI USA 6134 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce pipe thread sizes in threaded plumbing and piping systems. This fitting connects a 1-1/4 inch female NPT inlet to a 3/8 inch male NPT outlet, allowing technicians to step down line sizes without additional adapters. Constructed from lead-free brass, the 6134 meets modern potable water compliance requirements. At 0.29 pounds, it is a compact, durable fitting suited for professional installation in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
This hex bushing is used in threaded piping assemblies where a reduction from 1-1/4 inch to 3/8 inch is required. Typical applications include water supply lines, HVAC hydronic systems, and gas or fluid distribution manifolds that use NPT-threaded connections. The hex body design allows a standard pipe wrench or adjustable wrench to seat and tighten the fitting without damaging the fitting body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation hex bushing for standard NPT threaded plumbing and piping assemblies requiring a 1-1/4 inch to 3/8 inch reduction.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters using a pipe wrench on the hex body. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope approved for the intended service fluid before threading the fitting into place. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removal or installation of any threaded fitting. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including IPC guidelines, for fitting material and joint sealing methods.
