The BMI USA 6129 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce a larger threaded pipe connection to a smaller one. The hexagonal body allows for a secure grip with a wrench, making installation straightforward and precise. Constructed from brass, this bushing resists corrosion and holds up in both water and low-pressure gas applications. It features a 1-inch male NPT thread on the outer end and a 3/8-inch female NPT thread on the inner end, making it a practical fitting for reducing pipe size in plumbing systems. Lead-free construction meets safe drinking water standards.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a pipe reduction is needed between two threaded connections. It is commonly used in water supply lines, irrigation systems, and other threaded pipe assemblies where a 1-inch to 3/8-inch reduction is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, renovation, or system modification work.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass fitting for use in standard NPT threaded pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before assembly, and tighten with a wrench to a secure, leak-free fit. Do not overtighten, as this may crack the fitting or damage the threads.
