The BMI USA 6127 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce a 1-inch female threaded port to a 3/4-inch male threaded connection. Hex bushings are a standard fitting in plumbing and mechanical piping systems, used to transition between two different pipe thread sizes without additional adapters. Machined from brass, this bushing provides reliable corrosion resistance and a durable threaded seal. The lead-free construction meets requirements for use in potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting in both residential and light commercial applications.
This bushing suits threaded piping assemblies where a 1-inch to 3/4-inch reduction is needed. Common applications include water supply lines, HVAC hydronic systems, and general mechanical piping where NPT threaded fittings are standard. The hex shoulder allows wrench engagement for controlled tightening without marring the fitting body.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement fitting compatible with standard NPT threaded piping systems requiring a 1-inch to 3/4-inch reduction in residential and light commercial plumbing or hydronic applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter using a pipe wrench or adjustable wrench. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe compound to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as excess torque can crack brass fittings or distort the thread seal.
