The BMI USA 6125 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch female threaded port to a 1/4-inch male threaded connection. Hex bushings are a standard plumbing and HVAC fitting used to adapt between two different pipe or fitting thread sizes within the same line. Constructed from solid brass, this bushing provides reliable sealing and corrosion resistance in pressurized water, air, and gas supply systems. Its lead-free construction makes it suitable for potable water applications where local codes require compliant fittings. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of reducer fitting during new construction, retrofit, and repair work.
This hex bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and compressed air systems where a threaded reduction from 3/4 inch to 1/4 inch is required. Typical applications include connecting smaller-diameter valves, gauges, sensors, or tubing assemblies to larger-diameter threaded ports on manifolds, tees, or pipe runs. The hex profile allows standard wrench engagement for proper tightening without damaging the fitting body.
Designed as a standard NPT-threaded hex bushing reducer for use in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and compressed air piping systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 1/4-inch threaded reduction.
Installation of this fitting should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten using an appropriately sized wrench on the hex flats. Do not over-tighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
