The BMI USA 6116 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce a 3/8-inch female threaded port down to a 1/4-inch male threaded connection. Hex bushings are used to adapt between two different pipe thread sizes within a plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical system. The hexagonal body allows for a secure wrench grip during installation. Constructed from lead-free brass, this fitting meets safe drinking water requirements and is suited for both potable water and general fluid handling applications.
This fitting is commonly installed in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, HVAC equipment connections, and compressed air or gas distribution lines where a threaded size reduction is required. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians during equipment hookup, system modifications, or repair work.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass fitting for use in any system requiring a 3/8-inch female NPT to 1/4-inch male NPT threaded reduction in plumbing or mechanical piping applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off the water supply or depressurize the system before installing or removing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before makeup. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can strip or crack under excessive torque.
